What does that make me?
The new Threadless t-shirt released today called Facial Hair Club For Men

made me question my identity… Am I really a hobo? or a lumber jack? or just a bum who cant find his shaver who is using it as an excuse to grow a pretend beard?
You decide!
Bear Stearns + The Long Tail + Skype
I just listened to a conference call that was held yesterday by Analyst Spencer Wang on The Long Tail:Why Aggregation & Context and Not (Necessarily) Content are King in Entertainment It was shorter than expected (it only lasted about 15 minutes) because no questions were posed. As you might have thought the discussion is based on the theory posed by Chris Anderson in his book The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More
The case study that was discussed was the Evolution of TV as being an example of the long tail and the impact of increased choice; as the # of tv channels increased the Big 3 (NBC,CBS, ABC) had a decrease in # viewers and the cable channels had an increase. Long story short as we inch closer to infinite choice of channels with the help of video hosting sites and the implementation of broadband into the homes we will be stuck with overwhelming confusion. Therefore it is imperative that the content be packaged. Who are the expected viable aggregators to emerge you may ask? My bet is on GooTube.
The aggregation model applies to all content, video, news, blogs.
I was pointed to this conference call by an aggregator, the beauty that is Techmeme
There is a HUGE need for a middle man to clean up the noise. (and not just for the geeks)
Thats all I have to say about that-for now.
In other news I used Skype 3.0 BETA.
and it rocked!!! I just clicked the # for the teleconference as you can see in the screenshot
Solid product. Not to mention the call was free!! (promotion expires at the end of the year)

Tips for listening to the replay of the conference call.
When they ask you to type in your name just press #.

The World is Flat Arrived
I ordered The World Is Flat : A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century by Thomas Friedmanon audio
as well as the print
version.
Since I will be hearing Friedman speak this week at this event I thought it would be a good idea to read/listen to his book.
I’m in my car on avg about 2 hours a day and I hate feeling unproductive, so I found that audiobooks are the way to go.
I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.
Working on a Holii Day
The day after Thanksgiving to some, is considered a holiday.
(see: Black Friday)
I took part in the days festivities by going to work.
However on my way to work this morning I stopped by the ToysRus near the office.(at around 8:30am) I waited in line (not on-line — I was scorned by a west coaster once) patiently for the nintendo wii. The whole process wasn’t too bad for the craziest shopping day of the year.(about 15 minutes). It seemed as if the crazy mothers didnt even know what the wii was!
After buying the console (minus extra controllers due to the shortage) I rushed to the office to get the console set up in our game room. (Dont get too excited that we have a game room its just a ping pong table a tv couches and a non-working pinball machine. — but I guess now it is rockin’ with the new addition!!!)
The set up was simple and easy, and once I held the controller in my hand I was in love. It was fun playing against the computer. But it was awesome playing with others. Thanks to Jack for bringing in his 2 controllers.

Boxing: A great work out
After a good hour of gaming, im back to my desk, and going to try to get some work done.

I hope to be a better story teller/blogger some day.
Blogger vs WordPress vs Vox vs Me
I dont really have an answer to which blogging service is right for me.
I am just falling back on what I am used to / know.
Back in the day, when I attempted to blog, I used blogger/blogspot.
It served its purpose.
When I decided I wanted to blog again.
I wasn’t sure what service to use. I looked/asked around;
At first I was going to use VOX because of its friends/family option.
But my friends and family don’t really blog so I don’t really need to form a network of people I will reveal my esoteric or private posts to.
Then I gave wordpress some thought. I’ve heard good things, I still might use them in the future.
If the comment spam(one of the downsides to blogger) gets too intense to handle, I will seek higher ground.
As for now I am going to stick to what I know.
Here we go again
I am revisiting this ’sphere .
Hello out there.
I will use this as a way to voice my thoughts on various things.
“Like What?” you may ask.
This will probably end up being just another random blog with random thoughts.
I will try to post thoughts that can enlighten you and not just waste your precious time.
That’s all for now.
